LYNETTE HEMMANT is an artist living in south London. Having enjoyed considerably success as an illustrator, particularly with children's books, Lynette has in recent years devoted her talents to painting and drawing. Lynette is one of the decreasing number of artists who generally work en plein air, i.e. outside, behind the easel, from life. Her work rejects a conceptual outlook. In an era when art strives ever more for minimalism and where the effort of meaning is too often conveyed by an accompanying text rather than the image itself, Lynette's work aims to really see the world and to place an artistic, necessarily subjective interpretation upon it.
